More people are harmed from caffeine overdose than Marijuana overdose.

The only thing dangerous about Marijuana is its illegality.

ADMIN

This is a very interesting site you have here. I would like to contribute my two cents, being that you have quite a bit of feedback (relatively recent at that). I would agree that cannabis is not perfect. I have been smoking on a daily basis for seven years, from age 19 to 26. I have had depression since middle school, but was never put on antidepressants.

What has cannabis done to me? Cannabis reduces my mathematical ability when I am under the influence. It also makes me sleepy, which can be problematic if something comes up later in the day after I've smoked. It also makes me smell like cigar smoke (blunts), and I realize that many people in public do not approve of this smell. Lastly, it has barred me from employment due to hair tests (passing a urinalysis is simple).

What else does cannabis do to me? Well, it stopped me from putting a .38 special in my brain following my mother's untimely death from cancer. It also softened the blow I sustained when my high school sweet heart of five years became a drug addict and slept with an oxycontin dealing hillbilly (these two events happened at roughly the same time).

Cannabis also amplifies my sensations. All foods feel saturated with flavor under the influence. Boredom is always relieved. Sex feels better. When I was sober (in high school), I had sex once a day at most. Currently, I want it all the time. It has done nothing to damage my libido in the way that prescription MAOIs and SSRIs transform patients into sexless zombies (I have friends prescribed Wellbutrin, Paxil, and Zoloft, and all of them report sexual side effects). My buddies gain weight on their prescriptions for depression. Meanwhile, I am a steady 156 lbs. at 5'7". I attend the gym four times a week, bench press sets of 200 lbs., and leg press sets of 810 lbs. I use specifics not to be impressive, but merely to demonstrate that being physically fit is something to which I pay particular attention. Cannabis has not softened my ambition. It has made me question authority, which I consider a blessing. I realize that this argument is often used by anti-cannabis crusaders as a negative aspect. I argue that any person needs to consult an American history book and remind themselves that this country was founded by people that questioned authority. I pity anyone that doesn't question authority. Cannabis helps to refresh my rebellious spirit, which in turn positively affects my creativity and my ambition.

I am a college graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. I recently left two jobs and moved from Virginia Beach, VA to Daly City, CA in order to attend Oaksterdam University. In case you didn't know, Oaksterdam is the premier institution for individuals interested in entering the emerging cannabis market.

That's right, I hope to open my own dispensary in California... or Colorado... or New Mexico... or Rhode Island... or wherever else it becomes decriminalized in the near future (crossing my fingers for North Carolina).

ADMIN, I do not denounce the facade of this website. The fact that it appears to altruistically encourage abusers to seek treatment is an admirable goal. The disturbing aspect of this site is the fact that you are making a profit. There is advertisement from third parties on the various pages. I also wonder if you make money being a "counselor." If you do, then I respect you less.

That's where you and I are similar, ADMIN. We both intend to profit from our efforts regarding cannabis users. However, the difference is that you are spreading misinformation about cannabis. While I'm manufacturing high grade medicine for my clientele, you will continue to fabricate anecdotal evidence as to why cannabis is a bad idea.

I wrote my college thesis on the health effects of the drug. GOOGLE DR. TASHKIN. Cannabis users are not more likely to develop cancer than non users. Evidence presents a contrary result: THC and other cannabinoids might actually kill pre-cancerous cells. The schizophrenic argument has also recently been filled with holes, I urge anyone reading this to consult psychology and psychiatry journals to discover the truth about cannabis for themselves.

Cannabis does not shorten life expectancy. Cannabis has never (and cannot ever) cause an overdose. It is not perfect, but no recreational drug is perfect. I will not even begin to discuss the dangers of alcohol and tobacco on society. Luckily, we live in a country where free thinking individuals can choose to use recreational substances responsibly, so long as they understand the associated dangers. Cannabis has had one profound negative impact on my life: it has turned me into a criminal.

You, ADMIN, are doing a disservice by spreading false information.

so, you had the willpower to give up a vicious, physically addictive substance like cocaine, but not to give up a relatively harmless, mentally addictive substance like pot? (you cannot argue that pot is physically addictive, as even legitimate studies that advocate against pot concede it is not physically habit forming)

"Contrary to what many pot smokers may tell you, marijuana is addictive, at least psychologically. Even among occasional users, one in 12 can feel withdrawal symptoms if they can't get high when they want to."
<a href="http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/marijuana-use-and-its-effects" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/marijuana-use-and-its-effects</a>
Read: 83% of occasional marijuana users don't even experience any psychological withdrawal symptoms.

You say that you had loving parents, which is probably true, but based on your story, they don't seem to have been very good parents. instead of just making sure you go to church every weekend and hoping you become a responsible adult, they should have been paying attention to the fact that you've been drinking since you were 11 and done something about it. Any competent parent would be able to tell that their 11 year old has been drinking regularly. if you want a crutch to place your blame on your parents are the most feasible target. but again, since pot isn't physically addictive, the real blame lies in your weak-mindedness.
You're just as bad as the people who blamed the columbine massacre on that Marylin Manson guy.

I'm sure I've smoked a lot more pot in my life than you possibly could, and though I don't smoke it much anymore, it's only because my wife has asthma, so I don't smoke anything around her. I've never really experienced any withdrawal, and although sometimes I do crave a nice fat joint, I also sometimes crave chinese food, chocolate cake or a trip to the movies.

although I do know what an addiction is like, (nicotine and caffeine are actually physically addictive) I can also say I've never gone to work high, or driven a car high, just as I have never done these things while drinking alcohol. that's called being responsible. if you wouldn't do something while drunk, you shouldn't do it stoned either. Even being a pot smoker myself, if one of my employees comes to work stoned, I will fire them. if they choose to smoke it in their spare time, that's their choice.

well, the wife isn't home and I have a bag of pot that's been sitting in my basement for a month or so collecting dust, I think I'll go have a smoke.
oh yeah...that being said, how many addicts can leave a stash untouched for a week, let alone a month?

(and to those that might say that pot is not mentally addictive, if you're a daily smoker, quit for a day that you have nothing to do but sit at home, and count how many times you feel like smoking a joint...no worries though, it passes after a couple mins, and goes away entirely after a day or 2 with no physical side effects...because it's not physically addictive!)

Look at this dumb*** admin spreading lies about pot, and then praising anti-depressants. Do you work for the drug companies? cause the more I read your website the more I realize these stories are Complete BS. You know those anti depressants are mind altering drugs (and I have some friends who have Overdosed and died on them RIP), now your spreading links trying to prove anti depressants are safe (even though people on the comment section have given you so many links showing pot in a positive light and you just ignore them). You are a piece of work sir. Tell your dumb**** brother that he shouldn't of been getting high before work. When Im high I can't do math very good, if I needed to do math guess what? I wouldn't get high. We've proved to you marijuana isn't addictive (by scientific fact), yet you have told us we are liars. Just shut down your site and find something new to do with your life.

before you get to anal on me. I didn't proofread my comment as I expected there to be an option to edit my text before making the final submission. I do realise that I missed the word 'have' in my third sentence.
Thank God I didn't forget that that word existed or I would looked stupid.

Admin,

You said
"I think one reason why we are not hearing comments from the guys that have been smoking for 20 years is because they can’t put together a good sentence. More than likely these individuals do not even use the Internet and never will. I was literally at this point after 5 years of solid pot smoking (4 to 5 times a day)."

I will do my best to assemble a decent sentence for you. I have been smoking pot daily for over 35 years. I also been chipping Heroin for over 30 years. Strangely enough I earn a six figure salary employed as an analyst/programmer for a very large and very well known fortune 500 company. I actually do use the Internet (I am pointing this out as after five years of such heavy pot smoking on your part you might not be able to connect the dots). As a matter of fact some protocols and applications that you use every day on your 'druggies-can't-do-it' Internet you can thank my drug-retarded shrunken brain for.
I find it very hard to believe that you are a five year victim of that insidious drug marijuana and suspect that your good self and many of the other posters here who carry on about the evils of pot probably share cubicles at DEA HQ.

Oh BTW

I have a few things to say to you Admin.

First off do you honestly think that the government would post that anti-depressants are addictive if they are making millions of dollars selling that **** to people, I know if I was making Billions of dollars off selling prescription drugs I would try and make sure alot of people thought it was safe so I could keep making money. Why would the government want people to grow there own medicine if weed was legal, they would not profit as much therefore illegal. On the fact of anti-depressants being addictive well you said it yourself "You have to ween your way off the drug" Therefore addictive, if you can't quit cold turkey then its addictive, my girlfriend is addicted to anti-depressants. Ya she forgets the odd one but forget 5 or 6 you have hell on earth, come on are you really that ignorant to believe half the stuff you are saying?

Quote: "People that have smoked pot for over 20 years can't put together a sentence" is just ridiculous, I know for a fact that Tommy Chong is richer than you buddy, and he produced movies. I think he can put a sentence together very well. The funny thing is I think your one of those people that believe that pot makes you stupid, kills your brain cells, you will be completely useless to society if you smoke weed. Well if that is true then 50 million Americans smoke weed and about 50% of Canadians have tried it. Now our economy should have fallen long ago if people can't function and need to go to rehab centers.

Ah thats it! "I would have never forgotten smoking weed after my coffee". Funny because coffee is more addictive then weed, and coffee kills more people than weed. I would quit the coffee! Keep the weed my friend you have better chance of survival. Alcohol killed tons of people when it was illegal and still kills alot of people now that its legal! Heres a funny fact for you Admin. In Amsterdam weed is legal to smoke in coffee shops, there is less people that smoke weed in Netherlands where its legal, then there are in the US and Canada. Funny to, that there is less crime rate to, then any other places.

Admin, I really hope that you smarten up and educate yourself more. Here is a documentary its called "The Union" that could help you learn a little more about the subject.

<a href="http://video.google.ca/videosearch?q=The+Union&hl=en&emb=0&aq=f#" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://video.google.ca/videosearch?q=The+Union&hl=en&emb=0&aq=f#</a>

Now I hope you will watch that and learn more about weed, how unaddictive and unharmful it is to you. Please o Please don't post more stupid replys, everyone that has posted on this blog other than you knows the truth so don't go around bull******* the world like Doctor Phil because weed-smokers are one step ahead of you.

Thanks, God Bless!

On the fact of anti-depressants being addictive well you said it yourself “You have to ween your way off the drug” Therefore addictive, if you can’t quit cold turkey then its addictive, my girlfriend is addicted to anti-depressants. Ya she forgets the odd one but forget 5 or 6 you have hell on earth, come on are you really that ignorant to believe half the stuff you are saying?

Quote: “People that have smoked pot for over 20 years can’t put together a sentence” is just ridiculous, I know for a fact that Tommy Chong is richer than you buddy, and he produced movies. I think he can put a sentence together very well. The funny thing is I think your one of those people that believe that pot makes you stupid, kills your brain cells, you will be completely useless to society if you smoke weed. Well if that is true then 50 million Americans smoke weed and about 50% of Canadians have tried it. Now our economy should have fallen long ago if people can’t function and need to go to rehab centers.

Ah thats it! “I would have never forgotten smoking weed after my coffee”.
