Maybe this site should be called “Say No to Cocaine”….. I could agree with that.
I was very depressed when I was in my early teens, I went to my doctor and was prescribed antidepressants. Over the next 3 months I lost about 20 lbs… I was 14, I should have been gaining that weight. I never felt like eating anymore. The Zoloft kept me from being depressed, unfortunately it also kept me from feeling much of anything at all.
I started using cannabis. I got my appetite back and was able to put back on some of that weight, I felt good. I stopped using Zoloft, started using cannabis and have never again had to feel empty inside because of synthetic mood stabilizers. I continue to use cannabis, in moderation, in the privacy of my home.
My husband also uses cannabis, he has had Crohn’s disease for 10 years and has lived with malrotation of the gut his whole life (he’s been ill since before he started using cannabis). I am so grateful he is able to use cannabis as his medicine, if he did not have it he would be in the bathroom 15 times a day and overall very sick. It really upsets me that the people on this site WANT my husband to have constant diarrhea and abdominal pain. Oh yeah, but he could choose to take prescription medicines…. NOT! the side effects of opiates, prednisone, humira and other Crohn’s drugs are intolerable… he would need to use cannabis just to offput the discomfort these drugs cause and they do NOT cure this illness, there is no cure…. So until then Cannabis is the answer for him. It would be very, very sad if a 95 lb terminally ill man were to have to go to jail for easing his suffering.
I really don’t care if you don’t want to use cannabis or even don’t want it in your life at all. Those decisions are for the individual to make, I respect your choice to not have a place for cannabis in your life, it certainly is not for everyone. I hope you can learn to respect other individuals responsible choices, even if they may be different than yours.
