When I was 10 I dreamed of being …

Comment posted Your Potential by K-Stigs.

When I was 10 I dreamed of being the greatest basketball player ever like Michael Jordan. Did I actually think that was going to happen? No, but I wanted it to happen. I hoped. Now, I enjoy cannabis every single day and when I was 10 there is no way I thought my life was going to turn out this way; nevertheless, my life is going great. I have a full-time job that pays very well (hard to find in this economy), I enjoy cannabis 2-3 times a day and I’m able to hang out with friends after work to play basketball or just chill.

Now Admin it’s your turn to think back to when you were 10 years old. Did you think you’d make a website that told people what to do? Did you think you’d be FOR the prohibition of a harmless drug that has medicinal value? Did you think that it was alright to restrict other adults’ right to do what they want in the privacy of their own home. It all goes back to morals. Perhaps you should get some. Stop trying to restrict my freedom. Be above the ignorance of society. Think for yourself.

Awesome. You replaced pot and alcohol with cigarettes. Cigarettes kill more people than pot, alcohol, coke, meth, heroin, and prescription meds combined. Oh, but they must be good for you because it is legal because I need the government to tell me what I should put into my body…

Man up and stop using drugs to satisfy your cravings. Do something productive with your life and stop expecting people to make the proper decisions for you.

To ADMIN’s response to my post on July 22nd at 6:42 pm:

What do you mean by everything? All drugs? Yes, all drugs should be legal to do in the privacy of one’s home.

In response to your “marijuana stores are bad” argument: Why should I suffer because some addict can’t control himself? I shouldn’t. I played by the rules. I’m an upstanding citizen that contributes to society. So why should my ability to enjoy a plant be ruined by some stupid addict that contributes nothing? It shouldn’t. I don’t care about that addict and it’s not the law’s job to either. Addiction is a medical issue, not a law enforcement one. Laws are supposed to be made to protect freedom, not restrict it.

I don’t care whether you don’t want a marijuana shop near you. Who are you to decide how someone makes a living? Stop trying to force people to live the way you want them to live.

ADMIN, have fun dying from the prescription meds. You take three different meds already? Imagine 10 years from now. They’ll have you on double the amount. You think that’s good for you?

Anyways, back to the topic of Jail Time. Putting people in jail because they want to enjoy a natural plant is OK? If this is the case, then you don’t understand the role of government in today’s society. The role of government should be to protect our liberties and keep us safe. How is restricting someone from ingesting cannabis in their own home “protecting liberties” or “keeping us safe”?

Putting people in jail for enjoying a plant is the real crime.

  • Drug Addiction Reality
“17,000 people die from drug abuse yearly.”

So, how many people die every year from guns? How about car accidents? How many people do we kill in foreign countries every year? So, should war, guns, and driving be made illegal? Of course not. The same argument can be applied to drugs. While they are of course bad, it’s better to have them legal because that way the people who have them aren’t automatically criminals under the law. People who abuse drugs need medical attention and rehab, not a prison sentence. Prohibition has failed. The drug war has failed. Time for a new strategy.

  • Legalize Weed
Why do you want the government to decide what is good for you? People need to take control of their own lives and if you’re not able to do that you need to seek medical attention. If you felt the effects you listed and continued than you’re definitely an addict. So, why would I listen to your advice? Someone who couldn’t handle themselves on cannabis is going to tell me how to live my life. I don’t think so. Thousands of people die every year solely from prescription drugs that were prescribed by their doctor. How many people die solely from cannabis? Zero.

Also, how can you say medical marijuana is a complete joke. Have you ever seen someone with MS? How bout Crohn’s Disease? Glaucoma? Those people deserve to be prescribed cannabis because it will at least ease their pain. Stop trying to decide what is good for other people and let freedom ring.
