The problem isn’t making pot legal for all the “Normal People”. The problem is making it legal for all of the addicts. I remember that I really liked going to weddings and concerts. Because it was okay to get really drunk or stoned because everyone else was “doing it”. So making marijuana legal for addicts gives them the green light for a wedding everyday. Let’s face it the liquor store makes most of its money from the alcoholics. So who really gets hurt by making marijuana legal? Alcoholics and addicts are different because they “Crave”. This is what sets us apart from other people when it comes to using certain drugs. I’ve always said that we already have one drug legal that is terrible (alcohol). Why should the government make two drugs legal? I think everyone has heard the term “pothead” before. This term was created to describe someone who smokes marijuana all of the time. THC the active ingredient in marijuana gradually causes the brain to “slow down” in some areas. The strange thing is that the addict rarely notices that this has occurred. However; the people around him or her will notice the slowdown. I personally had this happen to me, so I know what it feels like to have other people laugh and call you a “pothead”.
These are the “pothead” effects that I experienced:
1. Slowed speech.
2. Slowed movement.
3. Trouble reading (My eyes could not stay focused on pages.)
4. Short Term and Long Term memory problems.
5. Trouble learning new material.
6. Did not mature into adulthood as expected.
7. Felt less than other people.
8. Depression
9. Anxiety
And the list goes on…..
These are some of my direct effects from smoking marijuana. Medical marijuana is a complete joke. Go see a psychiatrist and see if he or she would ever recommend marijuana for a patient. I was personally told that “Let me give you something that will help without all of the side effects of marijuana”. This is the real truth about the drug. The side effects are too many to count. Have you ever felt really paranoid when smoking marijuana? No, I’m sure that has never happened to anyone before……..

This website is ******* stupid. Read up on the facts.
http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/
Go to that link. It has all the sources. Me and another 25 billion other people want it legalized. I say it’s time
hell even if this stuff is true… it is a lot better than being an alcoholic and beating your wife in the trailer park, then killing someone while you drive away drunk!!
I am still trying to figure out if these people are serious. If you people truly think someone can be addicted to weed, it makes me think you have never met an addict.
Wait. How can you “7. Feel less then others” But also be depressed and have anxiety (possibly socially).
Contradiction?
All you have to do is watch this video, all explained…………… You can’t argue, go on!

who do these people think they are trying to scare people out of something potentially harmless and amazingly awesome?? this website is ridiculous.
you need to take a hit and relax
if you’re a dumb *** and can’t be responsible about your smoking habits, then you’re right, you should say no to pot, same with alcohol. I’m 18, I work a 9 to 5 job at a publishing company, I’m going to college, I maintain my own house, I’m an avid reader, a printmaker and a sculptor AND I also smoke everyday. just because you can’t get your shit together doesn’t mean you need to be a downer on everyone else.
I have to say I don’t know how I feel about this website. I believe that marijuana should be legal, and that law enforcement should be kept out of an individuals personal choices as long as those choices are not infringing upon others’ lives.
I would like to elaborate on one of your questionable allusions from above (which is also a favorite question presented by prohibitionists):
“Why should the government make two drugs legal?”. Well, this one is the easiest to answer. For one thing, it is significantly safer than alcohol, hence providing a much safer alternative than drinking. For the rest of the reasons, please direct yourself to read “Marijuana Is Safer: So Why Are We Driving People To Drink?”
Lastly, I would like to say that it is unfortunate the negative experiences you endured. But, please refrain from promoting your site as “Say No To Pot”. You are only encouraging a negative stereotype that encompasses a significantly small portion of the American populace. So, just because you had a bad time, doesn’t mean everyone else will succumb to the same consequences you had. Please provide the truth instead of providing “facts” based on your personal experience. You are doing a disservice to those that are looking for good information and actual facts.
And maybe you wouldn’t have had such a bad experience if marijuana was legal? Just a thought.
I am not going to wreck you for being an alcoholic. I do believe that alcoholism is real, and that it is genetic and CANNOT be controlled whatsoever. You are completely right about that and I commend you for going to rehab. Now, that being said, you ARE WRONG about marijuana though. It has been proven dozens of times to marijuana IS NOT chemically addictive WHATSOEVER, which means that unlike crack and heroin, you cannot get hooked. But, some people still cannot control even a non-addictive drug, and that’s where marijuana gets its bad name. So as people have said before me, please change your website from Say No To Pot, because it really needs to be Say No To Alcohol.
I find it funny that only the users/abuses want it legalized. Quit for a year and look at it rationally with a clear head.
Quebec,
I think you should refrain from finding it funny that according to you, “only the users/abuses want it legalized”, since there is actually an overwhelming number of Americans that do not use cannabis who wish for its legalization. I suggest you do a little more research in the socio-political rationales that are emerging these days regarding cannabis instead of making false assumptions on, what I can only assume, is your personal experiences.
I don’t think many of you understand what addiction is. Addiction is a disease that makes you crave and go to great lengths to do anything that will alter your mood. It’s not specific to drugs, it effects every area of your life if you’re an addict. Alcoholism is nothing more than another word for addiction, because any alcoholic will have the same problem with any other drug. You can become addicted to marijuana, I lived that. A life where I couldn’t function with or without drugs. I was out of control. I smoked and smoked and smoked until there was nothing left, a quarter a day. I dropped acid nonstop. I was rolling on X all the time. I lost control of my life completely. A lot of you say, you have to moderate your using, addicts can’t do that with any drug, whether it’s one that causes physical dependency like cocaine or opiates, or a relatively safe one like marijuana or LSD.
However, I do agree with most of you that it should be legal. It should be a person’s choice, not the governments. If you want to **** up your life and smoke weed so be it, or more likely than not if you’re just a normal person you’ll enjoy marijuana every now and then and have no problems at all with it.
Only feel paranoid people like you will tell me how to live my life. If we are all going to die wouldn’t you rather say you smoked pot than drove drunk, hit heroin, snorted cocaine, popped ecstasy or hooped oxycotin? i think so. Moderate use of marijhuana has been proved to have no ill effects in the long term. Addiction is a mind set not a genetic factor. The only proven ill effects are in addicts and it is bronchitis which gradually becomes worse. Not only that but to die from marijuana you would need to smoke your body weight in Cannabis
Sativa in 10 minutes…good luck to that. Even an addict can’t handle that much.
@Pitufa
I’m not even going to address your statement about rather living life on drugs. I completely disagree but I believe a person has the right to put drugs into their body. If they can live with the consequences (the consequences are different for every person so don’t get my wrong, I’m not saying using drugs is bad for everyone) then more power to them.
But addiction is certainly not a mindset. It’s a brain disease that is more likely to be developed if you have family history of brain diseases, not just addiction. If you’re open minded enough to look into ideas that differ from your own that are actually from reputable sources and not just your own mind’s rhetoric look into this article on addiction published by the American Psychiatric Association:
http://focus.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/1/2/190
Medical Marijuana is joke?! Tell that to chemo patients who have nausea and low appetite. Try the complete fact that there has never been a medically documented case of PHYSICAL ADDICTION from marijuana. Sure a psych could prescribe a “happy pill” but the addictive qualitites of these are way worse than sweet mary jane.

You people really are ignorant morons aren’t you? Your argument about “effects” was debunked some 30 years ago. Let me explain it to you. One activity makes you do this:
1. Heavy breathing, gasping
2. Possible nausea
3. Increased heart rate
4. Inability to focus
5. Uncontrolled shaking
6. Possible blackouts
7. Profuse sweating
8. Deaths have been reported
WOULD YOU KNOW I was talking about a game of tennis?
Wake up, you ignorant clowns, and stop punishing people for harming no one in any way. No tort. WAKE UP.
The reason they banned weed is that the goverment doesnt want us to think freely or be happy!
WOW. I was so pissed when i came across this site i wrote a very long email to them. Then when i saw this comment forum and smiled. I’m so happy people think this site is as ******* stupid as it really is. Now i get to say what i wanted to say in my email, but i was nice. **** you you pieces of **** ****** ****. dont tell us how to live our lives. its a victimless crime and because its a crime rapists and murders are getting out of prison and onto the streets. free up our jails for true criminals! let out the smokers dealers and traffickers. Legalize freedom! Legalize pot! Why can you drink liquor and beer when i dont want to throw up and i just want to smoke a bowl? I’m glad to see these people are wasting money keepin this site up. you’ll see. our dreams will become reality and it will be legalized…… one day
LOL
Out of all the replies on this site 99% of them are pro-marijuana
The average American who doesn’t smoke weed wants it legal.
the money spent on trying to fight it is a huge HUGE waste
legalize ALL drugs, regulate and tax them
and you will solve Americas ‘drug problem’
the biggest problem with illegal drugs is that
they are easier for our children to get than
tobacco or alcohol, that is a fact that many
drug war advocates don’t want to accept
the money saved on the drug war combined
with the tax revenue generated by the now
legal drugs could easily pay for public health care
and have PLENTY of money left over
the ‘war on drugs’ is a gigantic failure and needs to be abolished
prohibition doesn’t stop drug use, it only makes it worse
you think you were addicted to marijuana?!?!?! holy crap try doing a ball of coke everyday for a year and tell me that weeds is addicting. get a clue!
I told a psychiatrist, that is a top ADD specialist, that I use cannabis and he said it was fine.
You are telling me that since you say that you are addicted to cannabis I shouldn’t be able to use it, you sure are a piece of work.
I got to admit I’m pretty offended by the statement that medical marijuana is a joke… how can you say that when it affects everyone differently. You aren’t everyone, some people can really benefit from using marijuana and can live better lives because of it. Marijuana WILL have to be legalized eventually, the sooner the better… we can’t afford not to legalize it, stop throwing innocent, good-hearted people in jail for simple possession… id take marijuana over alcohol anyday
I wouldn’t be the free thinking question asking person that I am today if not for weed. Use, do not abuse and it will enrich your life.
are you ****** with me? you must be right?
theres is no way to get mentally addicted to marijuana. this whole website is stupid, and alcohol is alot worse than weed anyday go check your sources because there wrong..
Hmm so weed shouldn’t be legalized because there are people that are “addicted” to it? Then why is alcohol legal? There have always been drunks. Always will be. But no one is arguing whether or not alcohol should be legal or not (not these days anyways, prohibition of alcohol was long ago). The same principle applies. Just because you’re a weak piece of **** doesn’t mean marijuana should be illegal for the people who can handle a fairly harmless substance. I guess alcohol should be illegal too because some people have a tendency to become addicted. Lets see how many Americans get angry about that. A whole lot.
Your reasoning and logic is flawed. So is this whole site. Marijuana is not addictive and I am so glad to see that EVERY person who leaves you a comment seems to have common sense and realize that cannabis should not be illegal. Thank GOD for so many angels.
Willy said : “there’s is no way to get mentally addicted to marijuana. ”
Marijuana addiction is purely mental.
It is just like being addicted to food or sex
marijuana is not physically addicting
meaning that there are no physical withdrawls from smoking marijuana
just like there are no physical withdrawls from not having sex or not eating greasy foods
weed is a mental attiction, no withdrall simtoms, like herion makes you go crazy with out it, not weed, weed is just a plant, its just thc.
Well……….heroine is just a plant extract.
So is cocaine.
Just because something comes from a plant does not mean that it is not physically addictive
Look at nicotine.
The bottom line is……cannabis the least addictive ‘drug’ out there.
Caffeine is more addictive.
There is no reason for cannabis to be illegal.
Whatever. You people need to get a life – and an education.
and I’m talking about the moderators of this site, by the way….
